Lady Luck and The Pyramid

Present time 8:53 am Japan time Sunday, crisp autumn day, slight hang over, listening to Milosh – You Make Me Feel. Last Friday was a bit of a of bumpy day for me. It seemed all my “castles in the sky,” my plans to take over the world with my ILLSHEEP empire had crumbled. My web designers revolted over my meticulous over zealous personality and those close to me doubted my vision.

Well, what could I do? I went home after a long day of teaching at the university and poured myself a glass of wine, and put on Rocky the Final. His speech to his son almost brought a tear to my eye, “It’s not about how hard you can hit but about getting up after you take a hit and continuing to move forward, this is what winning is all about!” However, to take a hit implies that you must be engaged in battle or action in the first place. Meaning if you want lady luck to shine on your ass you gotta be in the game.

For me the involvement in the game is not my problem, I am actually hyperkinetically crazy about my brand and trying to move it forward. In my case, I realized I was just worshiping the wrong part of the pyramid. Even though I subscribe to dictum of abandoing the bling for brains I wasn’t putting my money where my mouth was! Picture an ice burg, I was worshiping the 10% bling part above water and not even realizing it. Well, I have decided to flip the equation and focus on the part of the 90% below water, the content. Thoughts are the strongest of weapons but they have to pointed in the right direction…
